1853 was a transition year with Seated Liberty Quarters. As with all transition years, this has several varieties to collect.
Variety 1 No arrows or rays (mintage 44,000)
Variety 2 Arrows at date and rays on the reverse (mintage 15,000,000)
There is also a rare 3 over 4 variety with the date. (mintage unknown)
No wear. Full mint luster. Minimal wear. Some mint luster remains. Minor wear. Some mint luster may remain. Still great design devices. The high end of a mid-grade coin. Spent several months in circulation. Mid grade coin. Nice example. May have some detracting features. Significant wear, but all devices are recognizable. Not a bad coin at all. We like to say these coins served their country well! hehe This coin has been around the block a time or two! Imagine the stories it could tell. Barely recognizable.
